DRAFT PROPOSAL

Mosaic Artist George F. Fishman Proposes to Execute the Work described below for Design, Inc.

SCOPE OF WORK

1 mosaic mural for bank exterior

SIZE: 

Approx. 4x17’

MATERIALS: 

Options include glass smalti, ceramic tile, vitreous glass, venetian golds, split-faced stone.

THEME/MOTIF

Historical and scenic highlights of Fort Walton Beach area.

MOUNTING/INSTALLATION:

Mosaic will be thinset-mounted on 1/2 thick cementitious. Steel framing is optional. On-site installation to sound, smooth stucco surface, using mechanical and/or adhesive fastening system. 

PRICE

 Preliminary sketches to suggest composition and stylistic options - $

 Revisions to preferred sketch - $

Final working drawings to be incorporated into total project budget.

Fabrication and pre-mounting of mosaic - $    Price depends upon selected style, which can range from relatively simple and stylized to a more detailed composition. Optional ceramic relief framing to be installed on site - TBD

Crating and insured shipping  - TBD  (size/weight depend upon materials selected & panel arrangement chosen – X small or X large panels)

Installation - $ to $, depending upon method of panel mounting – rectangular or interlocking. 

Air transportation, cab & car rental – approx $.

Lodging and meals $/day (X or X days), unless provided by client.

Rental of scaffolding or other required equipment $, unless provided by client.

WORK SCHEDULE & PAYMENT TERMS

Upon approval of Preliminary Proposal, deposit of $        initiates preliminary design work. (2 weeks)

Client selection of preferred sketch (with its corresponding budget) initiates revisions. (2 weeks) Optional mosaic mockup sample can be created for add’l $ payment.

Upon approval of revised design work (and optional mosaic sample), payment of 50% deposit initiates working drawings, ordering of supplies and beginning of fabrication. (6 weeks)

Fabrication of mosaic in studio will require X to X months, depending upon design/materials/technique selected, and upon other work commitments. At completion of approximately ¾ of fabrication process (documented by studio visit or photos), but prior to panel mounting, interim payment of 15% is due. 

At completion of mosaic fabrication, interim pmt of 15% is due.

Crating, shipping and installation will require 3-4 weeks. Balance payable upon installation.

SITE REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of 14 hour/day access to site during installation period of XX days.

Availability of uninterrupted water and electrical power. 

Availability of dumpster or other receptacle for waste water and cement. Otherwise, fee of $ may be assessed.
